There is one aspect of blogging that I have not been able to fully grasp. That would be timeliness. I could not pull myself together and organize my thoughts to write anything after the three-game sweep to the Dodgers. I would imagine that you were all experiencing the same feelings that swept through me.
How could [...]

Today, the Chicago Cubs wrapped up their regular season in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Earlier in the season, I expected this series to be epic, but the Cubs have had the division wrapped up for over a year. This series was still important, especially for the Brewers. Though the Mets have not lost yet, they [...]

I believe I have written before that the idea that “This series is important” or “This game is important” is kind of a silly notion. There are 162 games and though the idea is to just win series’, there are numerous opportunities to make up lost ground. That said…this series is important.
I don’t think it’s [...]

Yes, I was at Wrigley for the awful game on Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles. This game was painful for me to sit through. I am willing to take responsibility for this ugly game. I took

So the White Sox are headed to the North Side for the weekend’s Crosstown Series. The Cubs come limping into Wrigley after getting swept for the first time this year….by the Tampa Rays. That just doesn’t sound right.
So maybe Lou will be looking to fire the team up. Maybe a guy in cubbie blue will [...]

As I laid in bed last night, satisfied with the Cubs extra-inning win and delighted with the fact that Soriano slapped a base hit, I created the following scenerio in the form of a lucid dream:
I imagined pausing the world after Fontenot touched homeplate to win the game. Soriano and I

A weekend in Pittsburgh is, well, you know what happened. Although Aramis Ramirez, the Cub RBI machine got key hits in both of the Cubs’ losses, the Cubbies found ways to lose. A lost fly ball

* This homestand was just great. At the beginning of the homestand, the Cubs were 2 games behind the Cardinals. After going 8-2, the Cubbies are now 2 games up. The most remarkable aspect of this homestand was

I had to use my fast wiper setting most of the way to Chicago yesterday. We had little hope for this game even happening, but we kept driving. I was a little pessimistic; at one point during the drive I found myself hoping that we would at least get to go in and see the [...]

Dusty- Alright, I’m not saying the guy was good.. but he’s not that bad. I mean, lets give him some credit where some credit is due.. He was at the helm when the Cubs had back to back winning seasons for the first time since 1972. Alright. Seriously, give the guy some credit. I’m not [...]
