Let’s hope that the tv-radio delay isn’t that bad for TBS. I don’t know about anyone else, but my delay varies from day to day and channel to channel. Now I haven’t made it a secret that I don’t particularly enjoy listening to Pat and Ron because Ron is hard for me to handle sometimes. [...]

Today, the Chicago Cubs wrapped up their regular season in Milwaukee against the Brewers. Earlier in the season, I expected this series to be epic, but the Cubs have had the division wrapped up for over a year. This series was still important, especially for the Brewers. Though the Mets have not lost yet, they [...]

Enjoy it, Cubs fans. For the first time since that infamous year of 1908, the Cubs have back-to-back division championships. This team is probably the best and most complete group of Cubs in my lifetime. Until the last few weeks, they have been the most consistent Cubs team in my lifetime. Throughout this season, if [...]

I had come close to giving up on the Cubs. I expected a monumental melt-down. And until last Wednesday, we had no reason to not expect that meltdown. I mean…swept by the Astros at home, then lose 2 of 3 in Cincy and then losing the opener to the Cardinals. This is it, right? The [...]

With fifteen innings of no-hit ball pitched by Lilly and Zambrano over the past two games, the Cubs are riding a growing wave of confidence into the postseason. Now all they need is to beat one of the best pitchers in the game tonight to feel unstoppable. The bats seem to be coming back to [...]

The Cubs continue their sucking in September. Dropping four to start the month, sprinkle in a 14-9 blowout and then drop one to the undying Cardinals. The only good news is that the Brewers have nearly equalled the suckage, going 2-7 allowing the Cubs to keep a 4.5 game lead.

Well, a loss like this is enough to bring be out of my nearly month-long Ivy Envy hibernation.
Folks, THAT is how the Cubs lose a ball game. That is the most heartbreaking way to lose a 4-3 game. Chopper up the middle for a double play to end the game? No way. If I needed [...]

Hoffpauir!
I think right now with this six-game skid, it would be kind of interesting to see what kind of a spark all of the bench players could provide if they all started at the same time. With fearsome opposing pitchers like Cueto (8-12) and Harang (4-15) coming up, now would be the perfect opportunity to [...]

It’s not that he gets pumped and shows his excitement–although showing emotion on the mound is enough to make pitchers hated by rival fans (see Zambrano and Marmol). It’s the damn theatrics. The guy has a strict warmup ritual (this is so out of control) and a strikeout ritual as well. He never steps on [...]
